I regret to inform you that the following obituary appeared in the =
Standard Times (New Bedford, MA) on Sunday, February 10.=20
"Retired Navy Commander Eric George NewbergJr., Tiverton, R.I.,
formerly = of New Bedford, died unexpectedly Monday, Feb 4, 2002, at
St. Anne's = Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of Georgette E.
(Dubois) = Newberg.=20 Born at Mt. Vernon, N.Y., the son of the late
Eric G. and Caroline = (Riehl) Newberg, he lived in New Bedford for
many years. =20 Survivors include his widow; a son, Eric D. Newberg
of San Diego; two = daughters, Elizabeth T. Newberg of Arcava, Calif.,
and Enid D. Newberg = of Seattle; and a brother, Frederick Newberg of
New Britain, Conn.=20 A memorial service will take place at a later
date to be announced.=20 Burial will be in the Veteran's National
Cemetery, Bourne, MA.=20 Arrangements are by the Wilson Chapel, 479
County Street, New Bedford, = MA"=20
Cdr. Newberg was very active in MOWW affairs, being a perpetual member
= of several chapters and holding many offices over the years.=20
