JUDY MOREAU

She was an exceptional person.

I am truly sorry for anyone here in this church who did not know her, because you have missed something special.

I first met Judy in the early 1980’s which I joined the Military Order of the World Wars.  From our very first meeting to our last which was at Brunswick Naval Air Station in August of 2006 when Judy was awarded the Silver Patrick Hennery Medal for Patriotism.  She was allays a pleasure to be with.

Having served her country on World War II, and then after leaving active e service, she went on to serve thousands of Americans, particularly young American, right up to last year.  Yes, I am truly sorry for those that never met her.

In addition to spending time at MOWW meetings, most of my wife Paula’s and my time spent with Judy was in connection with the Youth Patriotic and Leadership Foundation’s Youth Leadership Conferences in Boston

Each year Judy and her friend (but no relation) Rae Moreau would gather up students in Maine and drive them to Boston on Sunday afternoon for a four day, three night Youth Leadership Conference.  The following Tuesday Judy and Ray Moreau would join use with the students and the Commander-in-Chief of the MOWW at the Sit-Down Dinner; a rare and very festive occasion.  The next day they would drive the students back to Maine .  Mind you they did this for over 10 years.

I know that there are two individuals here today who attended these dinners as students; Her Grandchildren 1stLT Orr and Alsia.  Alsi attended two, once as a student and the last time as a guest of Judy.  They can attest to just how much time and effort Judy devoted to young Americans.

As if that wasn’t enough, there had never bee a Region I Chaplin of the MOWW that was eve r more dedicated to those special duties.  Patriotic to her very core, Judy always would bring a appropriate clipping from a magazine or paper and a small give to these meetings;  a unique pin, or an American Flag pin that was battery operated and would flash…She never forgot.

I know that most of us here will never forget Judy.  I’ll bet that right now she is hurrying around up there getting things ready for us…and if you could hear her speak to us today I am sure she would say…”Now don’t worry or hurry.  I have plenty of time and I hope all of you do too.  Just remember, I will be here to greet all of you upon your arrival.”

Thanks Judy for all you have done for us here on earth and for getting thins ready for us up there.  And No we most certainly will not be in a hurry because we know you will be there for us in the future just as you were always there for us in the past.

GOD BLESS JUDY
